About Palmyra

Palmyra (1814–1821) was a town in the English Settlement, 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the town of Mount Carmel, Illinois, in what is today Wabash County. First settled in 1814, Palmyra was originally the site of a ferry across the Wabash River.

This is a site record: what public sources say about Palmyra, gathered in one place. We haven't written a full guide yet, so history, current access and photos are still to come. Treat the status as unknown until a guide confirms it.
