About Haywardville

In the early 1800s, Nathaniel Hayward bought remodeled shoe mills in Stoneham, Massachusetts from Elisha Converse, founder of the largest rubber shoe manufacturer in the world, the Boston Rubber Shoe Company in Malden. Straddling Spot Pond Brook, the village was the site of early industrial development which later blossomed into larger factories.

This is a site record: what public sources say about Haywardville, gathered in one place. We haven't written a full guide yet, so history, current access and photos are still to come. Treat the status as unknown until a guide confirms it.
