About Leon
Leon is a ghost town in northern San Diego County, California. A former gold mining town from the 1880s, it was named for the Leon Mine that lay on a hill to the northwest of the town.
This is a site record: what public sources say about Leon, gathered in one place. We haven't written a full guide yet, so history, current access and photos are still to come. Treat the status as unknown until a guide confirms it.
