About El Dorado City
El Dorado City, which has become a ghost town, was a mining camp in the Colorado Mining District at the mouth of January Wash at its confluence with El Dorado Canyon. It was located about a mile (1.6 km) down the canyon from Huse Spring, at an elevation of 2,382 feet (726 m).
This is a site record: what public sources say about El Dorado City, gathered in one place. We haven't written a full guide yet, so history, current access and photos are still to come. Treat the status as unknown until a guide confirms it.
